General

Do I need a Meraki license to use Workflows?
No. Cisco Workflows is freely available within the Meraki dashboard. You don't even need Meraki devices — you can create a free Meraki account and access Workflows immediately.

Are Boundless modules free?
Modules published on the Cisco Workflows Exchange can be installed at no cost. For custom workflow development, enterprise support, or managed automation services, contact us at workflows@boundlessdigital.com.

What does "Cisco Verified" mean?
Cisco Verified modules are built by partners (like Boundless) and reviewed by Cisco before being published to the Exchange. This means the module has been assessed for quality and functionality by the Cisco team.

Safety and Risk

Can a module break my network?
Boundless modules are designed with multiple safety layers. Every module validates inputs against your live network configuration before making any changes. Conflicting or dangerous operations are blocked automatically. However, as with any automation, we recommend running modules in a test network first before deploying to production.

What happens if a subnet overlaps?
The VLAN Management module detects subnet overlaps during the validation phase and blocks the conflicting configuration. Valid, non-conflicting inputs in the same run are still processed normally.

Is there a rollback option?
Boundless modules are designed for safe execution, but for full backup and restore capability, we recommend pairing your Workflows automation with Safeguard by Boundless — our dedicated configuration backup and restore solution for Meraki. Take a snapshot before running any automation, and restore instantly if needed.

Technical

How many VLANs/ports can I configure in one run?
The current version (v1.1) supports up to 10 network/interface inputs per run. Expanded limits are planned for future releases.

Can I run the module across multiple networks?
Not in the current version. Multi-network support is on the roadmap.

Does it support Catalyst switches?
Not yet. Catalyst switch support is planned for a future release. Today, the module supports Meraki MX gateways and MS switches.

Can I modify the workflow after installing it?
Yes. Once installed, you can unlock and edit any workflow in the Workflow Editor. However, if you edit the workflow and a new version is published to Exchange, installing the update will overwrite your changes. We recommend duplicating the workflow before making modifications.
