Overview

Keeping a healthy connection between Boundless and Cisco Meraki ensures your data stays accurate and all features work properly. The Organizations page shows you the status of each connection at a glance. This guide explains what each status means and how to fix any issues.

Connection Status Types

Connected ✓

What it means: Everything is working perfectly. Your OAuth 2.0 token is active, and Boundless has full access to your Meraki data.Action needed: None—you're all set!

Restricted âš ī¸

What it means: Something is blocking Boundless from accessing your Meraki data. Think of it like having a fence blocking your doorway—Boundless is trying to get in, but an IP restriction or licensing issue is in the way.How to fix it:

  1. On the Organizations page, click the error message text next to the organization showing Restricted status
  2. Review the information to confirm if an IP restriction is causing the issue
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the Boundless IP address to your organization's whitelist in the Cisco Meraki dashboard
  4. Return to Boundless and click the Refresh button for that organization
  5. Confirm the status changes to Connected

Expiring Soon ⏰

What it means: Your OAuth 2.0 token is about to expire due to 90 days of inactivity. This is an early warning to prevent a full disconnection. How to fix it:

  1. Find the organization with Expiring Soon status
  2. Click the Refresh button to renew your token and restore the Connected status

Expired ❌

What it means: Your OAuth 2.0 token has expired. Boundless can no longer access any data from this Meraki organization until you reconnect. How to fix it:

  1. Find the organization with Expired status
  2. Click the Reconnect button to go through the authorization process again and restore access
  3. Alternative: If you no longer need this organization connected, click Disconnect to remove it permanently

Why This Matters

Keeping your organization statuses healthy ensures accurate reporting, reliable alerts, and full functionality of all your Boundless products.
